Product Description

Sombra is the recessed luminaire that disappears completely into the false ceiling. Perfect for enhancing the settings it is used in, Sombra comes in a number of adjustable and fixed versions. Two spherical rotating sections enable the light to rotate by 45° and 356° respectively on the axes, keeping the light source hidden from view at practically any angle. For total integration with the surroundings, Sombra can be painted the same colour as the false ceiling it is recessed into. Sombra is available in different sizes and excels in both diffused and directed lighting of intimate settings as well as large spaces and its excellent adjustability means it can light flat and vertical surfaces. The discreet design, the refined technology and the simple installation make Sombra a great resource for architects and interior designers.

Body

Die-cast aluminium; it is fitted with a passive heat sink that exploits the thermal conductivity of the aluminium and the convection current generated by virtue of the temperature difference in the air around the heat sink, ensuring perfectly efficient and long-lasting light sources.

Installation

The bezel supplied is positioned over the cut-out in the false ceiling and then fixed with the innovative ClikFix retainer device. For trimless installation, it is possible to request the spotlight support, inserting this in the plasterboard false ceiling (9 - 12,5 - 15 mm thick) and smoothing plaster around the cut-out.

Adjustment

With Sombra it is possible to adjust the lamp by rotating two solid spherical sections: rotate the small section to tilt the lamp up to 45°; rotate the large section to tilt it up to 356° in the vertical section. A special grub screw keeps it in the adjustment position, selected using the small notches as a reference.

RE LED LUCE optics

IOS re?ectors with ? 80 mm (LL2) made from stabilised polycarbonate (up to 140°C) with highly re?ective metallization - exclusive scratch resistant, vitri?ed surface and antistatic safety shield with high light transmission (97%). The shield is clear for very narrow beams, satin for narrow, medium and wide beams and satin/prismatic for the Wall Washer Mira version. There are also versions with gold optics or with selective ?lters for lighting foodstuffs.

RE IOS optics

99.99% pure aluminium IOS reflector with ? 80/130 mm, twist-lock fixing system and tempered safety glass (clear for narrow beams, microsphere for medium and wide beams, prismatic for the Wall Washer Mira version). There are also versions with gold optics, selective filters for lighting foodstuffs or coloured dichroic filters.

Control gear technologies for RE LED LUCE

Pre-wired driver fitted with two-core cable (with silicone outer protective sheath and Teflon-coated inner leads). Quick-fit plug to connect to the socket on the luminaire. High efficiency driver >85% and a power factor of nearly 1 assure real energy savings. The robustness of the control gear is assured up to Ta 70°C and Tc 90°C and guarantees a lifetime of over 50,000 h.

Control gear technologies

? HF control gear (digital superimposed timed safety ignitor – with burnt-out lamp control) for metal halide lamps with ceramic technology, low loss power supply (with thermal circuit breaker and power factor correction capacitor). Pre-wired and fitted with multi-core cable (with silicone outer protective sheath and Teflon-coated inner wires) complete with a quick-fit plug to connect to the socket on the luminaire. Versions for halogen lamps: transformer not included. ? Transformer not included.
